Navy Command Headquarters Released a Press Release Explaining the Matter Regarding the Media Coverage of “Ridiculous! How Is One to Examine Submarines Without Any Relevant Experience?”. (April 11th, 2019)

Regarding the media coverage of “Ridiculous! How Is One to Examine Submarines Without Any Relevant Experience?”, the Navy Command Headquarters has provided the following explanations today (11th):

1. The coverage contains completely false information. The command headquarters has never received suggestions from any retired officials regarding the Indigenous Defense Submarine, and the Navy consultant project has been handled according to the Government Procurement Act without any violations. The coverage contains malicious rumor from trouble makers who intend to sabotage the progress of this project, and the command headquarters hereby requests all media to refrain from becoming a tool for intermediaries or brokers, as those who leak confidential information or deliberately produce false information will bear legal responsibilities.

2. The command headquarters cooperated with the supervision from the parliament on March 28th and implemented the confidential report on the progress of the Indigenous Defense Submarine at the Legislative Yuan, where the progress and various documents of the Indigenous Defense Submarine were explained to the legislators, which received recognition and support from the legislators. The Navy will continue to execute the project according to the planned schedule by upholding a prudent and rigorous attitude on the control and management of risks in order for it to enter the next phase smoothly and hereby requests the continuous support of all citizens.
